All Domestic Appliances come with a guarantee, eg Hotpoint come with a 5 year parts guarantee, which means for 95 the engineer will not charge you for parts.

Refrigeration Appliances do make noises/cracking especially frost free - if the machine is still cold, it is ok.
NOTE IF YOU have a fridge or freezer in a garage or lean too, when the weather reaches freezing conditions, the appliance will not keep your food cold, as they work on the basis of ambient temperatures being above 10 degrees approx.
Please check, However I may still be cheaper.

These are all recent repairs I have attended with the reported fault and solution.
Jaguar 28, F3, Pressure rising to above 3 BAR - replace hot water heat exchanger and pump up expansion vessel to 0.75 BAR.
Worcester 24i junior - leaking, no pressure indication - replace air admittance valve, fit new pressure gauge, pump up expansion vessel.
Alpha 28CB, no hot water, leaking then stopped altogether - replaced fan motor, heat exchanger and flow switch.
Bosch washing machine overfilling, stopping - unblocked pressure chamber and replaced heater.
